Noise Ordinances

Following are the applicable town ordinances regarding construction, power tools, leaf blowers, and refuse pickup:

• General Construction:
  Town Ordinance 6B-6a permits construction from 7am to 6pm (Mon-Fri) and 9am to 5pm (Sat); construction is NOT allowed at all on Sundays.


• Lawn and Power-tools (hand held):
  Town Ordinance 6B-6e permits lawn and power tools (domestic) to be used from 8am to 9pm every day (Mon - Sun); it should be noted that snow-blowers are specifically exempt from this ordinance, therefore there are no restrictions on the use of snow-blowers.


• Leaf-blowers:
  Town Ordinance 6B-6e allows for only 1 leaf-blower per property (regardless of parcel size) from Memorial Day through Labor Day, during the following hours: Mon-Fri: 8am to 6pm, Sat/Sun/Holidays: 9am to 3pm


• From Labor Day through Memorial Day, Town Ordinance 6B-6e (4) allows for only 1 leaf-blower for parcel sizes of .25 acre or less with the same hours as above. For parcels greater than .25 acre, there are no restrictions as to the number of leaf-blowers that may be in operation with the same hours as above.


• Garbage (refuse) Pickup:
  Town Ordinance 6B-6b allows garbage/refuse to be picked up from 5am to 9pm every day.
